![]() The local food will amaze you and the tastes are nothing like I have experienced elsewhere. Traveler tip - if you like fresh seafood YOU MUST GO to the Fish Fry! Ask any taxi driver or take the #10 bus. The people in Nassau are wonderful and friendly and it is a joy to visit every time I go. I would however save my money and not add on the second portion that involves the driving and just walk along Bay Street on your own and discover everything that is there. The boat trip to and from the sub and the actual sub ride were great and I would recommend this attraction/excursion. The driving tour ends where you started at the pier and you can then venture out on your own. They take you to the mountain top to an old fort where you must pay $1.00 for about a 1 minute tour and then you are surrounded by straw market vendors. While the tour guide was amazing and very informative, there was nothing provided during this very "quick" tour of the city center that I could not have read on a brochure or seen myself. If you pay for the second part of the tour - that is where you may not find you get your monies worth. You tour several different locations of varying depths and after about 40 minutes the tour is over and you go back topside to meet the boat that takes you back to the port and drops you off at the straw market. My tour had the luck of seeing a 5 to 6 foot Barracuda and Sea Turtles along with thousands of fish. The tour guide chums the water and fish appear on both sides and provide a decent opportunity to take pictures and learn more about the different fish in the area. They open on both sides to about 24 x 24 inch windows looking directly into the ocean. You take a seat and quickly find that there is not a bad seat in the boat. ![]() The boat take on about a ten minute cruise through Nassau Harbor where you get to see homes reported to be owned by famous movie stars and celebrities as well as other attractions.Īfter finishing the tour you arrive next to a semi submersible boat that has seating on deck as well as what seemed like about 40 seats below. The trip starts by meeting a guide just off the ship and walking a short distance to the end of the pier where you board a "wind air conditioned" open boat. The attraction had highs and low points but overall was worth it and we had a good time. My wife and I had the opportunity to take this excursion on a recent trip to Nassau with Carnival Cruise Lines. ![]()
